Consortium

A major function of the Wisconsin Geriatric Education Center is to promote interchange and collaboration among Wisconsin’s researchers, educators, and practitioners in the field of aging.  Since its inception in 1986, the WGEC has operated as a formal consortium consisting of Wisconsin’s premier academic and healthcare organizations.  Although the consortium mix has changed over the years, collaboration remains a cornerstone of the WGEC.

Each of these organizations contributes unique strengths and resources, allowing the WGEC consortium to tackle interdisciplinary projects that no single institution could accomplish on its own.  Each consortium member is responsible for leading at least one major project and appointing at least one representative to the WGEC Governance Council.
