Community Initiatives
Collaboration is at the heart of the Wisconsin Geriatric Education Center
(WGEC). Beyond its formal consortium, the WGEC collaborates with a
wide variety of organizations in order to advance its mission.
Following are a few examples of ongoing community initiatives in which the
WGEC continues to play a significant role.
Milwaukee County Senior Statesman Program
An annual program designed to educate older adults about County government with the goal of cultivating social and civic engagement.
Dental students fabricate and custom fit a complete denture set for Wisconsin residents who have no remaining teeth.
The Wisconsin Geriatric Education Center (WGEC) is proud to be recognized as a Founding Member of the Milwaukee Aging Consortium, a non-profit organization dedicated to connecting all professionals who serve older adults in the Greater Milwaukee Area.
A free educational resource for students, faculty, and professionals interested in learning more about the oral health issues of older adults.
